The most in demand MP3 ringtones are songs by Lil’ Wayne or Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr. He has made guest features with various artists like Destiny’s Child in their song “Soldier.” He made mixtapes with DJ Drama, DJ Khaled, and collaborations with other artists. It seems that the southern rapper has established a successful solo career. He even places 2nd in the Billboard 200 this week.

People around the world could be seen wearing earphones or headsets that are connected to their iPods or portable MP3 players. Even the music CDs can be ripped off and turned into an MP3 file. Free downloads sites for MP3 have spread over the internet as well, giving people an easier access to the latest trend in the music scene.
The MP3 phenomena has helped people in several ways and one of it is the easier distribution over the internet. Once an audio is digitally compressed and encoded to create mp3 audio files, it can then be transferred to another user through the internet. MP3 files can then be collected or downloaded from the internet to one’s computer. After which, it can then be transferred to a portable MP3 player or made into an audio CD. These CDs can then be ripped into a computer and turn into an mp3 file or the files can be collected directly from mp3 players. This cycle goes on and on and helps spread music all over the world.
Even with ringtones, which were once monotonic, evolved into polyphonic, MIDI, etc. are now in MP3 format as well. With the MP3 format, your mobile phone can use real music as ringtones, message alert or even as alarm signals. Some music are cut, leaving only the chorus part or other interesting parts (intro, bridge, outro, etc.) to be made a ringtone and the likes.
The MP3 has indeed made a great impact in the music industry. It has created more audience and helped the music lovers carry and enjoy their favorite songs with them anywhere they go. It has also developed more uses for music such as making your favorite one as your ringtone.
Coldplay, with their song Viva la Vida, has topped the Billboard’s top 100 for this week from last week’s number 2. The song Lollipop by Lil Wayne which was last week’s number 1 has dropped off to number 3 this week.

MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface, IPA: /ˈmɪdi/) is an industry-standard protocol that enables electronic musical instruments, computers, and other equipment to communicate, control, and synchronize with each other. MIDI allows computers, synthesizers, MIDI controllers, sound cards, samplers and drum machines to control one another, and to exchange system data.
MIDI does not transmit an audio signal or media — it transmits digital data “event messages” such as the pitch and intensity of musical notes to play, control signals for parameters such as volume, vibrato and panning, cues, and clock signals to set the tempo. As an electronic protocol, it is notable for its widespread adoption throughout the industry, and for continuing in use since its introduction in 1983.

The MIDI has different file formats. It comes in Standard MIDI File (SMF) Format, MIDI Karaoke File (.KAR) Format, XMF (eXtensible Music File) File Formats, and the RIFF-RMID File Formats. But what’s common for us is the Standard MIDI File (SMF) Format which we use as ringtones. MIDI Files are best to use as ringtones because unlike most mp3 files, they are just tones.
